I was going to put a Mojo sight on my yugo but can't get the retaining pin out that holds the sight in place. I have taken it to my gunsmith and he is having a hard time doing it. Anybody have a similiar problem and any solutions in regards to the sight removal. I have some other options if this doesn't work but want to use that Mojo sight.

In a word . . . . no! But then again I never tried to remove the rear sight from any of my K98k / M48 type rifles. A shooting buddy did put on a B-Square mount and a Scout Scope on his Yugo 48 and experienced no problems to drift the pin out of the base. He did drive it left to right, but the pin did not show any taper so I'm not sure if that matters or not. Your's may be rusted in or something. Try some Croil or another penetrating oil on it.

Thanks for the advice. My brother got one of these rifles and his was hitting dead on with the sights as is. Just my luck, I get one that shoots way too high.

A way to high point of impact you say! Here's some 's on why this might be.
#1 reason most M48's and K98's shoot high is that people are using the Turkish 8 mm ammo. It's not loaded for the sights on European rifles. Try Romanian, FN, German or Yugoslav 8 mm ammo. Turk ammo is the 155 gr. S projectile. The others I mentioned are the more modern sS bullet that is the Heavy 198 gr. BTFMJ design developed for Machine gun work originally, but then adopted as the normal round for German and other countries armies.
A possible cure is to switch ammo types or get a taller front sight blade. These are about $12 bucks delivered and are available from a variety of sources. Gun Parts, SOG, SARCO, Springfield Sporters.

Ok, S Man, this might be a dumb question but what do you ask for when ordering a "taller front sight"? The ones I have seen are just listed as front sight with no mention of height. I would go for that option if I could find one. Thanks and you wer right I was shooting Turkish ammo. That's what I had.
