Dear Zouve and WTK- Thanx!Wish my scanning talent was as good as my refinishing though!I know many purists are into duplicating the Russian Orange Red by using Potassium Permanganate or other chemicals,bu this is my third gun using Minwax and Formby's.Only took me two weeks!I just use 0-000 steel wool and plenty of acetone and towels to strip and clean.I then apply one coat of stain and let sit for 15 minutes or so and wipe of the excess.I then LIGHLTY apply a thin coat of Formby's using disposable sponge brushes.I really think the key is correct preparation, application and patience!Formby's is actually a Tung Oil finish, but is almost a no-brainer to apply. My dollars worth:)-Gearhead.
