levers and cross bolt safties

I missed two shots because the safty on my marlin got sliped on in the saddle scarberd, I have never used a cross bolt safty on a lever before and when the sights come on target and the rifle goes "CLICK", the second time I threw the rifle in the deriction of the doe. I no longer own that 45-70 and will never own another with a crossbolt safty.
