you guys were right, these are very sweet !!!
the blueing looks very nice, barrel is like new. the stock has a few small dents and a little finish is worn away. but thats ok, i'm going to refinish it anyway. money well spent :)
i'm not a sling guy, but i think this one would look real good with one on it.
2 questions
is that varnish on the stock ?
i'm thinking that the hand guard end caps should be blued. as per 100% original, true ?
a crappy pic.

Jes,
Whats wrong with the picture? I think it looks great! You have to have a sling with an M44, they look naked without them.

thanx TBC.
you know, a funny thing about digital pics. sometimes they will make something look really good, sometimes make it look really bad. i try to find in between.
thats the good side anyway. the finish is not bad by a long shot.
but if i get the old finish off. raise the little dents if i can. just a little smoothing. then reapply the same finish, but in a caring way. this thing would be very very nice.
btw. i was just looking at it with a flashlight. much of the metal is browned, not blued. though it looks the same under regular light.
give it a try, it looks funny ;)

check this out. i just noticed that the serial# on the reciever starts with "ly", but on the rest of the parts its a guffy looking "n" and a backards "R" the following #'s are the same.
