Thanks Richard. They're not here yet, they say about a week.

I gave them a call to ask about the bores on the rifles, because I suspect these are the same batch of rifles that my dealer sent back 6 of (he got them from the distributor, not AIM) because the bores were dark and pitted and the distributor told him they were excellent like new rifles. If you remember TinMan's post awhile back, these sound similar to the one he was describing. My dealer had ordered both M38's and 91/30's and the 91/30 came with bayos just like this. I wish i could remember who he ordered those from. I'm going down there later today so I'll ask.

In any event, I'm not dissing AIM because they usually get really good stuff. Just a heads up if you order one you might want to ask about the bore. If the bores are nice, I'll be ordering one.

I see the 7.5 Swiss is up too, unfortunately the price for the surplus is the same as SOG's new production. SOG sells 20 round box for $7.95, AIM has the surplus at $3.95 for 10. Argh!

I didn't calculate the case price, lets see 480 for $168 = .35 cents a round. Buy less than a case it's .395 cents per round. Of course SOG charges the extra 2% for credit card so that's .397 cents plus an extra penny = .41 cents per round. So for an extra penny per round you can get new production from SOG. But, if you buy a case you'll save about .06 cents a round times 480 rounds equals $28.80. Which isn't shabby but I don't want a case, right now anyway.

Therefore I ordered some from SOG because new is better IMO. They shouldn't be able to screw up an ammo order I hope. I was thinking the ammo from AIM would be about half what SOG is charging. Hopefully they will bring down the price.

If the bores are as nice as the guns, I will order a M91/30 too!

I think I need another 91/30 .
Let's see what the bore condition is first though.

I called them just now to ask about some ammo and I looked at the web site while I ws on the phone and saw the 91/30's listed. He said they should be available next week. I've been wanting one in excellent condition and was hoping some more would pop up.

He said their excellent SKS's should arrive end of Jan. and the price will be $199.

Why doesn't AIM state that they don't have them in yet on the website. If you order on via the website and they don't have them in, what happens considering they don't accept pre-orders?

I guess I will start calling them on Wednesday and then every day there after. I need 2 of the 91/30's so make sure you guys save me a couple. What happen if I order on line with them? Will they ship when the items in?

You can pre-order the Nagants but not the SKS's.

I called AIM earlier and talked to Bryan. He took my order for another K31(shooter grade) some ammo(swiss 7.5) and the Nagants. He said they'll have them early next week.

He said he could send me the K31 and the ammo monday and send the Nagant next week when they get them. I told him to just send them all together.

I asked about the SKS and he said I'd have to wait to order it when they get them. So I'll be calling later in the month about them.

As far as condition of the bores on the Nagants if I don't think they're acceptable they'll be getting them back. But if you think about it how many 91/30's have you seen all matching with a matching bayonet for that price? Also the M39's how many have you seen all matching with the accessories for that price? Just a thought.

Let me know how they are ED4. Hope you get a good couple.

Yes, you don't see many 91/30's with matching numbers, that's what worries me. I think they may be restamped.

An excellent Finn M39 is in the same price range, but it's not a 91/30 in like new condition.

I hope I'm wrong, but I've already went down this road with my local dealer. I think these are going to be rearsenaled, restamped, refinished rifles, which is fine as long as the bores aren't shot out.

Dear Fellow Members-If these guns are anything like the ones that AA had,I would jump on it!Typically,it is very difficult to get a bayonet that fits the gun,as each is hand-fitted to the barrel. These bayonets go for $20.00 and more up,and a really nice sling will cost at least $20.00.So you need to subtract those two values from the purchase price to get a true cost of the rifle. They appear to be missing the cleaning kit,but I think TAPCO still carries these. If they have been arsenal refinished, they might also have that cheesy finish that comes off with your fingernail, entailing stripping and refinishing. No big deal-I guess it depends on your preferences. If I did not already have two,I would order one.If these are as nice as they look, they won't last long!-My dollars worth:)-Gearhead.
