The best review I've encountered on this rifle from AIM Surplus is here:

http://www.cruffler.com/review-November-01.html

Cruffler's review and their maximun "BUY-O-METER" rating sent me straight away to order.
It's a beautiful well made,straight shooting,easily adjustable,rifle.

And it's SWISS.

Hi Zouave,
Here's a site you can go to and see the K-31 by scrolling down to the right spot. The rifle pictured there is close enough to the one that AIM sent me to be it's twin.

At this time I don't have the tech knowledge or equipment to make a picture, nor the knowhow to get it on this here Gateway
miracle.

Nevertheless, these Swiss'ers are something to behold and I hope that the link helps.

I've got one of the AIM select grades and well . . . it's mechanically nice, but I just don't feel too good about the stock. Seen some hard use down on the buttstock. It did have the tag under the butplate.

I'm still waiting on one I purchase while on a business trip in Switerland. Sigh, I wonder if it'll go to a year before it gets here!

AIM now has the GP-11 cartridges and the boxes look just like the ones I purchased to shoot on a range over there while on one of those trips. I think they look a little bit expensive but should be very good shooting ammo. If nothing else if you have the rifle you need to have at least a few boxes to keep with the rifle for historical purposes. The Indep FNM reloadable stuff is about the same price but you do get a good reloadable case after firing it.

Hey Schuetz. I've heard reports that these rifles look like the butts were standing in water at one time or another during their storage life. Is that something your's reflects or is it just from wear and tear?

Sanding in water, no probably snow or a rack in a vehicle or something. The one I purchased in Switzerland is not showing the wear and abuse on the but end like these ones that came in to the US. Maybe it depended on what armory they came out of. Ones in the mountains for example have the snow damage and the guns out of the lowlands part of Switzerland don't have the damage.

I had pics of it that I posted from Photopoint but that place is dead. Thank God I never paid those bozos money! I guess I'll have to rescan them and post them here again off my Gunsnet photo album. Now I may have to pay $$'s I think I'm going to fill up that 5 or 10 mega bites pretty soon. LOL!

I just looked mine over carefully and it does appear that the butt probably got wet a few times as the varnish has leached off a bit around the buttplate and about an inch up the stock.
The handguard area is shiny and does show the effects of having been held and absorbing skin oils.

One criticism is that it's(the K-31), a thick rifle especially around the receiver area.

I'm much more partial to the thinner feeling receivers of the Swedish Mausers.

I just shot four boxes of the GP11 today at the range. I can now safely say that the K-31 in combination with the ammo it was meant to fire is probably the most accurate military rifle I've ever handled. I was throwing groups I couldn't believe, even without glasses (I'm getting some this year, damnit!). I swear that it was outshooting me! Now, all I have to do is get my skills in line with my rifle and I can put the smack down on some of the AR-15 bigots at a match or two... Ahhh, would that not be a sweet, sweet feeling? :)

It is also worth noting that the GP-11 has the best manufacture quality I have ever seen of any ammo anywhere. The seal, the crimp, the headstamp -- everything was perfect.

Be seeing you.

Number_6 speaks the truth. I was at the range with him. He's got me wanting one now. The bolt on the K31 is the sweetest I've ever used.

Later,
Led
