For some time now I have been doing a lot of testing of the 16 inch carbine. After hundreds of rounds tested I believe the cartridge itself is limited. http://album.gunsnet.net/data/skippy/125_p563.jpg

The group is beginning to tighten up. The group shot with Wolf FMJ and Chicom AP is not worth viewing. This just shows you how handloading can improve accuracy.

What diameter are the bullets you are using?
You might want to try seating the bullets out more. As you are using a bolt action rifle seating bullets in the canalure is not required.

JA, .311 Remington. I tried .308 150 gr HPBT Match and 130 HP but the groups really open up.

You might want to try some of the new Hornady 123gr V-max bullets. I just got a couple of boxes from http://www.grafs.com/
and they measure .3105".
