My friend broke one while dry firing. He doesn't have a computer so I'm trying to track one down for him.
Thanks on the Makarov.com tip. I checked them before I came here and they want $16+ shipping, which is a bit much for my cheapo friend.

Global also sells Makarov parts. Fire pins are $9.80.

Not that I've ever heard of -- in fact, the only reason I've ever heard of behind replacing a Mak firing pin is that the original pin was misplaced/lost.
I'm looking at mine now, and unless something in the chamber was blocking the firing pin from moving forward or the firing pin was installed backwards, I just don't see how a hammer drop could break the pin; even those two circumstances would be a stretch. Maybe the pin was faulty from the factory.
At any rate, I've dry fired my Mak hundreds of times and I don't see any stress or wear marks, or fracture lines in the firing pin.
Odd.
