my savage has a partial U with an arrow in it, is this an african campaign rifle?, also what markings correct for savage should be on the rear sight( micro click type adjustable). unfortunatly this was my first C@R rifle and the stock was tore up, i refinished it to an original look and saved most of the " S " markings, My serial number starts with 21C . marked 1942, what month may this be in? , luckily it has a mint 2 groove barrel . Funny thing about the gun was the stock was so bad but the metal and finish are excellent , like someone took the barrelled action out and beat the stock with a chain! it looks like a new gun now, any other info would be appreciated thanks:)

The "U" with the British ordnance arrow mark inside means that this rifle was South African. I'll have to check on that serial #. :)
