Is the wood on the M-39 bayonet the same as the rifle? I have heard that the wood on the bayonet is walnut, and the rifle is Artic Birch??? 8dDUCE.

I can confirm that the stocks are made of Arctic birch, but none of my references say anything about the bayo wood. nor can I find anything about the wood on the repros.

Here is the Interordnance M39 repo bayonet. Handles match the color of most of my Mosin stocks that are Fins. It seems a bit more porous wood so it could be a type of walnut the Birch is very smooth and fine grained. Also here is a pic with it attached to a Sako rifle.

Wow that's an ambitious goal! Those suckers are scarce and very expensive. Like about $200 kind of expensive.
