My m48 yugo got here today. One ding in the stock.Bore is perfect.Bluing look's great. One thing puzzle's me,the floor plate's original number is stamped over with a new one.And all number's match. Were some of these rifle's reworked by the arsenal.

I'd say thats a strong probablility. Many were probably reworked before they went into long term storage. However that blue job on mine looks like it's original. Hmm hard to say...I'm just speculating... If a part has been restamped, that's a good indication of being done at the arsenal. If it's electro penciled it could have been done anywhere, including an arsenal.

I believe they are but mine dosen't look like it was restamped...its possible your origional one was damaged and need to be replaced for functionality's sake

I noticed this four digit number on the stock when i held the rifle at an angle. It look's like 4859, right in front of the new stamping. But i don't know how good you can see it on this photo.http://album.gunsnet.net/data/gsm7666/full_151_p883.jpg

Here is a pic of the floor plate.Sorry i couldn't get any closer with the flash. You can faintly see the line running through the number's.I will try to take a pic outside during the day without the flash so you can see both set's of number's if you so desire.http://album.gunsnet.net/data/gsm7666/full_151_p884.jpg

1. Looks to me that they replaced the stock and restuck the numbers to match at the arsenal. Just a guess though. definitely two sets of numbers there though.

1. That dont make me right. My expetise is in the Restoration, sales and wanted sections. If I give you bad info, let me know, We are all moderators here:D

2. Thanks, Nice to meet you to. Hope to see more of you. I have a M-48 I got from a dealer, it also has two sets on the stock. Thats why I think they just replaced furniture and then restamped them before they were packed away.
