I have a brand new Smith and Wesson folding stock and forearm assembly. I bought it new for a friends shotgun years ago. It did not fit his shotgun, which although his gun was a S&W it was made in Japan.

It was made by S&W and bears its logo. I am not sure what model of shotgun it fits.

Anyone have any ideas?
Whats it worth?

that is the folding stock and forearm to a Smith and Wesson model 3000 LE shotgun

I don't know its worth, but I paid $165 for the entire shotgun...20in barrel, VERY nice...accurate with slugs or when shooting skeet

I would make you an offer Zouave but I just spent a good deal of time refinishing the stock and forearm of mine to its orgional blonde wood...it came out quite nice...but thats what it is

Zouave, GCcowboy is correct! The stock & forearm in your picture were made for the S&W Model 3000 (http://207.8.143.18/smpics/976146337-2.jpg) slide-action shotgun. The Model 3000 was actually manufactured by Howa and sold by S&W during the early 1980's until 1984.Then Mossberg took over importation until 1987. My guess is your stock & forearm was made under license for S&W by another company, just like the shotgun it was meant to be installed on. I too wouldn't know what its value would be. But, to give you some perspective, a S&W Model 3000 in excellent condition might be worth about $250-$350. Hope this helps!

Steve

$250-$350? WOW. Mine just had a dinged up stock, looks like some cop took it in and out of the car many times, but rarely fired it. Like I said i have returned the stock to its origional apperance about 90-95% Had to but new swing swivel stud in the buttstock...any Idea how much it would be worth? Mechanically and Internally is perfect.

PS do you know # made or any info about police departments that recieved them?

thanks

GCcowboy, your S&W Model 3000 Police or 'LE' in the condition you've described might be worth about $185-$215. Hope this helps!

I have no idea. I bought the Stock for a friend years ago, but never owned the shotgun. Actually I recently just found it in one of my gunsafes, so I figured I would try too find out about it.

Maybe Steven Mace knows.

I am going to try to sell it for $60 dollars plus actual shipping.

GCcowboy, it should be somewhat similar to this exploded view (http://www.gunsworld.com/exploded/mossberg.htm). Hope this helps!
