SAR1 Saftey Lever

Got a SAR1 about a month ago.
I notice that the saftey lever leaves a nice "wear mark" in the guns finish.
Is this typical? If I got the gun gunkoted, say from Mac's, would the saftey not wear through like it does now?

It would still wear thru. Remove the safety, place the "part that goes in the gun" in a vise, and GENTLY bend "up" on the Exterior portion. I adjust all my safties this way - they become very quite, still "catch" correctly, and scratch much less.

Yes, it should scratch the finish, if it does not it's too loose.

Don't you like that wear look of your AK?
Unlike any other, AK is better when well worn (for me).
