mauser G43 info needed

ive got a G43 with no scope rail, it has been machined off and is original with the rifle, bought from the late Lynn Luger, what is the history behind this alteration? is there any collector value in this type or is it considered lesser in value, the great thing is its all matching and like new. thanks

There's a new book out on G43s, "Hitler's Garands" By W. Darrin Weaver. It's in the same format as Law's books and published by Collector grade pubications.
