I have a Saiga and I can not seem to get the front sight to move up or down. They are the original sites shipped with the gun when new. I tried using the sight adjustment tool with some liquid wrench and the tool just broke off on the sides. Any idea on how to get this to move? It shoots low. To low to just leave alone.

I assume that your front and rear sites are the correct ones for this specific gun. There are more than 6 different rear sites that I can think of off the top of my head..
Option A: Those site tools are not exactly the strongest thing in a tool box... Try "PB Blaster" in the aerosol can. The Home Depot sells it.
Last resort: If you break another site adjustment tool and all else fails, you can file down the front site post since it is shooting low. This will raise your line of site for the muzzel.

Try heating your sight tower up SLOWLY with a propane torch. Don't cook it, just keep it warmed up for a while. Then put on the liquid wrench, let it stand, and then try to move it again. It will eventually move with patience. Don't file it as that will ruin it forever. I hae learnd [the hard way] over the years that destroying a part is not the right way to correct a firearms problem.

DONT buy those $5 chinese adjustment tools from tapco or where ever
dont need to heat the thing up, but it might help
dont need to beat on it with a hammer
BUY the B-Square AK/SKS site tool, its the only one you will ever need and it Wont break, costs about $15, clamp it on the front site and you can shoot with it on
--use some wd-40 or whatever and go slow, i pushed my site drum all the way left and then all the way right to loosen it up, then center (on a SAR and Saiga)
make sure the rear site is at the 100 mark when shooting and not the battle mark

and on the 8th day GOD made the AK-47 and saw that this was good
talk is cheap, but bullets are even Cheaper!!!

You can use the screwdriver looking tool in your cleaning kit. At one end of it there is a hole that goes over the front sight post. Place the other end through the slots in the sides of the cleaning kit housing so that you will have leverage to turn the front sight post up or down. It works great and should already be part of your gun kit for most AK's. Give it a try.
