Maadi magazine catch

I just got an out-of-the-box new Maadi. The problem is that although magazines go in without any problem, the magazines will not detach using the magazine catch. The catch "locks" and has no movement; the only way to get magazines out is to insert a flathead screwdriver between the catch & the rear of the magazine and then lever the catch back. I get the same problem with the 5 round mag that the rifle came with, as well as with hi cap mags. It seems that the "tongue" at the rear of the magazine may be held too firmly by the catch. Will filing the underside of the tongue slightly help? Any other suggestions? Any help is much appreciated.

Eygptian quality control strikes again!It sounds as if your mag catch is a bit too long,if you file it down a little the magazine should come out easier.FILE A LITTLE AT A TIME(one or two file strokes check-file-check)until it locks and releases smoothly.
