SLR100H Problems

When my Gordon Tech rifle arrived, I noticed that the pin for the hammer had withdrawn and became cocked sideways. I managed to align the pin/hammer, but the lockspring that locks this pin in place doesn't appear to fully engage the hammer pin. My questions are: Is this a problem that requires a safety pin change, (ie bent/distorted) or would a c-clip be more appropriate?
