Hi Fellow AK'ers,
I just bought a new SAR1 and noticed that the gas cylinder is tilting to the right when looking down the barrel. Its tilted quite a bit. Can this be "adjusted" by me, or anyone for that matter? I see that there are two pins on the bottom. If I drive these out can I rotate it to make it straight? I am sort of new at this so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

You might not like this answer, but if it works ok, I'd live with it. If it's not causing problems now, it proabbaly won't later.

Some of the Romanian AK's have had this problem with the gas block and sights miscanted to the left or the right. Seems to be an ongoing QC issue. I'm not sure if the problem originates in the US when they are putting the rifles together (if that's even the case) or if it's happening at one of the 3 factories in Romania. My first 991 had the gas block canted a little to left. The rifle functioned flawlessly, but I just didn't like knowing the fact that I paid good money for a new rifle. I sent it back. Centerfire Systems then shipped me another new 991 and everything is kosher.

Good Luck
