OK, got a real nice Yugo from AKE at a gunshow this fall

1. How do I remove the action from the stock?
I can do the bolt dissasembly but how do I get the rest of it apart?

2. I got the accesories...how do I rig the sling up? Can anyone help me here?

There's two screws by the mag and trigger assembly you have to remove after you get the bands off. Here's a pretty good instruction on disassembly of the K98 which is quite similar the the M48

Yes Redstar,
as you mentioned the Yugo 48 and 48A models are very similar to K98k German Mausers.

Remove the cleaning rod, remove the barrel band and the nose cap band. Unscrew the two security bolts and then unscrew the two main bolts that hold the trigger guard and magazine system into the stock and that also hold down the action.

Grab barrel and lift out of stock. The handguard will come along for the ride. That's it, really pretty simple. Stripping the bolt itself is a good deal more complex GCcowboy, but you have mentioned you know how to strip that already so I won't go into it.

thanks for the info guys, those pics were helpful

I was fooling with the sling, and I have figured out how it attaches to the buttstock but when I loop it through the front sling loop it either comes out REALLY tight or REALLY loose...I know the Germans wouldn't have settled for something so sloppy looking...can anyone post a pic of this done correctly

yeah thats what I need to see

how is the front of the sling attached? I see the brass stud, is it looped through the barrel band or attached some other way?

Mauser slings the M48 series and K98k types slip through the slot in the buttstock. They have a folded over end with a bras button stud that holds that thickened folded end together then the front end is threaded through a sling slot on the barrel band that is on the underside in the photo above. You can see the brass button stud that is then shoved through the button holes. This is how the length is adjusted.
