Well, I'm primarily an AK guy.......but I do have to say that the Colt SP-1 that I own is what I believe the AR should be, light weight, easy to carry, and accurate. Also, I haven't experienced a failure yet with this rifle, but then again I do baby it.
This is one of the first civilian AR's that was sold. Manufactured in 1965, which I believe is the first full year of production.

The condition of the A1 is amazing.
I sure do like an A1 but I have a m4gery.
Someday wish to own another A1.
Untill then will be content with my Colt/Bushy hybrid.
Its very tight, no receiver slack at all.
I want that A1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rounded-up these Pre-ban Colts over the years. Has anyone ever seen these 20 round mag pouches? I have six of them and I won't say who gave them to me. They have a place where they go through a regular belt.http://album.gunsnet.net/data/skippy/full_125_p1612.jpg
