I am looking for a decent Yugo SKS shooter. Everyone seems to have them for about $149 now, who has the best ones for the money now? I heard that some of them are pretty beat up.
Thanks for the info.

I saw some from Century today at the gunstore. They looked in good to VG condition. None of them where like what I have been hearing on the net. I think they would clean up very well. I have not seen any other importers yet. I think I am going with Century for my purchase. Hope this helps.

In my experience, "Good" to" Very Good" conditions are a major crap shoot, unless you can actually handpick (no sight unseen purchases). Century Arms is the worst for condition consistancy. We recently ordered 2 of the Century Arms "Good" condition Yugo SKS' (grenade launching type). One was just that... Good condition, the other was way below that in metal finish (almost none) and wood (beat the F%#* up). We even had to send out for some parts that were missing (the extention piston and spring). When the parts arrived, I installed them and then noticed that it was too easy to manipulate the gas cut-off button. Yep, you guessed it, the spring was missing from that. We had our gunsmith supply us with a spring, and we finally put the gun out for sale. We sold the thing and it was returned that same evening. The thing would only shoot as a single shot. I asked the customer if the cut-off button was in the wrong location while shooting, answer was that he checked every time for that and that it was always in the open (to the right) position. Then after checking the gas system, we noticed that shells were sticking in the chamber. No obtructions or seperated cases in the chamber, so off to our gunsmith it went (still there). When I buy for myself, I only like to buy weapons through the mail when they are listed in at-least excellent condition. You can still get burned, but less likely that it will be a complete lemon than when ordering fair, good, or very good. Just my opinion, with my experiences:)

Has anyone here been to TN guns in Knoxville? Are they only mail order or is there a store I can visit and purchase a weapon at. I am hesitant to buy through the mail again as all my purchases on the internet has been screwy in one way or another. Thanks for your time.
