I know this is a mak discussion board. But I thought maybe some of you guys could impart your knowledge of another surplus pistol the P-38. I know this pistol replaced the luger parabellum by the nazi's and I'm pretty sure they knew their shit. Thanks.

Yes, you are correct, the Nazi's replaced the P-08 with the P-38, but that was during war. The P-08 was very expensive to manufacture and the P-38 was much less expensive. The tollerances for the P-08 were much tighter that that of the P-38, this effects accuracy.

But also remember, there are the war time P-38's and then ther are the Post War P-38's. I think that that the war time P-38's are much better than the post war aluminum frame P-38's...

I am still looking for a good, matching, war time P-38 for my collection...I might even want a P-08 war time issue.... but, if you want a true P-38...stay away from the post war ones...

PS: I have a Post war P-38 for sale...holster, 2 mags, pistol, cleaning kit... $400 ;)

My 1943 BYF Mauser built P-38. They are beautiful pistols.

If you are going to get handgun in 7.62x25mm then you only have following choices: Polish TT
Chinease TT
CZ-52

You might find a Hungarian TT or even Soviet TT, but I doubt it.
