I may not have enough information for anyone to help me with this, but anyway I went looking for another bent bolt,8mm,98 to play with.
I found a mauser that the gun store owner said was German made.It looked pretty clean, nice bore.
It had model 98 on the reciever,I didn't reconise the crest but it had a word in it that started with p.Hardly no other id on it.He wants 150.
Any ideas?

Yup, it is probally an Yugo M48, M48A or I have even seen a Yugo V24/47 with "produce 44" (in German)
They are all good rifles.

I think its a Yugo too.but after looking at it again I think I will pass this one up,found some cracks in the stock and bolt dosen't match.had neat eagle on bolt release tho.
I'm going looking out of town tomorrow maybe I can find something a little better.
Thanks again.

The 'preduze(sp) 44' 'mod 98' are original German made K98's from WW2 that were taken over by the Yugoslavs. Most had the Nazi markings ground off and restamped with the Yugo crest. Some members like neilwest and whos2know still have a multitude of nazi proofmarks on theirs. Mine has one Nazi eagle stamped on a screwhead :( Those guys got SS stamps and the works, bastards.
Those were going for about $99 from Century in good condition.

My German K98k had the swastikas center punched except for three that were hidden by the stock.
If that yugo was a little cheaper I'd probally buy it just to get the bolt release and put on my K98k!
