Just wanted to let everyone know what great service I have had with Hi-point. I have a .45 and a 9mm Hipoint, anyhow my firing pin spring for the .45 bent somehow. I called Hipoint asking if I could purchase just the spring instead of mailing pistol in to them.
Nope can't do it, but we'll send you one for free. My reply was of amazment. I am a field service tech so I demand good service since I live it. Well two days later I recieved a spring and firing pin. My guns are fairly inexpensive and warrantied for life. I plan on buying better weapons after I have the basics, but I really enjoy my guns. Also my friend has the carbine 9mm and it is a tack driver. Just thought I would share my experience since with my luck it is rare I am so completely satified by a companies service.:bigdeal:

No offense, 11BC2 (some cheap guns are indeed, fun to shoot), and I am glad they stand behind their products BUT accurate or not, they are inferior firearms and I would neither depend on one for self defense nor carry one with a LOADED chamber. Period.

I have a hi-point .45 too and I really enjoy it. I still haven't found a punch for takedown- do you have any suggestions as to where I should find one?

Okay so there inferior because ???? I can shoot very well with this or several other brands. At 50ft first shot I hit a 2" plastic zebra and can nail the remaining Armymen too. I hear people say bad things about HiPoint but not by the actual owners just people who say stuff like a friend of mine said his cousin who's in hum hum owned a once apon a, etc. I own the .45 and 2 9mm great guns great service great price and lifetime warranty. Results impress me not show. So like I said what's inferior about them, I have been shooting for a minute or two, but am always hungry to learn more about guns.

P.S. I have quality guns also and endose them all, all my $ go into rifles.

Whoa, Mr Hi-Point!
I've been buying and selling firearms for over 10 yrs (FFL and Ky Concealed Deadly Weapons Instructor) and have SEEN, first hand, the number of failures to feed/extract/fire/etc from MANY of the less expensive handguns on the range, so yes, I am qualified to speak about the Hi-points, Lorcins, Jennings, Davis, Ravens (probably the best of the batch, BTW, except for the flimsy safety), etc...As stated, I am glad YOU personally found one that wasn't a POS but as a rule, you DO get what you pay for and I would hate for someone to buy it based on a 70.00 handgun.
BTW, I don't shoot for show, either, that is why I carry a well-worn little polymer and dull pistol....it's called a Glock.

That's Cool,
I am not Mr, Highpoint so get that straight. I like all weapons and my SLR-95 is my favorite. I shoot every week and more if I get the time off, my coworkers are the same. We would love to have crates of Glocks, Kimbers, etc but are working joes. So I guess I do shoot for show, SO what! I did my time as a soldier now I have fun. What's up your *ss, no wait a minute don't tell me cause I don't care. Paid $160 for the .45ACP and $135 for the 9mm and have lifetime warranty. They work great as do all my weapons. I hope to own a great weapon such as the one you have, but I apparentley don't have your resources.
I am happy for you and your CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPONS INSTRUCTOR PERMIT. I really wish I had one, but if I had the $ I would buy another C&R insteed of worring about carring a concealed weapon. I have seen problems with several of the weapons you meantioned Bryco, jennings, raven , davis and your momma. Your momma was the only one that honored their warranty. No just Kiddin put the gun back under your shirt , we know your momma wouldn't do that. Damm I'm sorry, I will go away now, Please forgive me for I'm just a kid. Hope you have a good day, neighbor and hopefully my friend!

say what you want about HI-POINT....but they at least fixed his gun, unlike hesse. by the way, IMO a glock is a overpriced HI-POINT....I fired and handled it, and it didn't impress me one bit....but if your happy with it, I'm happy for you.

I, too, work hard for my money, that is exactly the reason to supplement my income as a CCW instructor and at present, only own 8 firearms. My point is this, from a purely defensive standpoint, a 70.00 firearm will not consistently be as reliable as a higher dollar handgun. This isn't to say that a well used S&W model model 10 won't hold it's own with more expensive autoloaders (because it will). I wasn't bashing your brand of gun or starting a childish "mine is better than yours" pissing contest but facts are facts. As for comparing a Hi-Point to a Glock (sfc ret), well, sometimes icons speak louder than words.... :D

I felt I had to chime in on this.
I have only fired a Glock once... a 9mm that funny lookin one with the long slide. Anyhow, it jammed twice in 20 rounds... not overly impressed with it...
I picked up a HiPoint carbine for $90 on Gunbroker.com, I have put a shitload of rounds through it... not one problem ( although it wont feed "Silver Bear" HPs ) Never a jam, never anything. My only complaint is that it seems impossible to take down??? But w/a lifetime warranty I can replace a defective part if needed.
I dont swear by it for self defense, thats why makarovs were made:D But for something fun to shoot without hassle... I will swear by that. So before you look down you gun snob noses I suggest upping $100 and trying one.

i really dont care for pistols at all. but i do like to interact with gun enthusist. especially on the net where you dont have to have any humat contact. like the man said a cheap gun is just that, but them damm ugly glocks. the supposedly high end stuff, one of my close friends, a true pistol nut. he had one blow a ruond in the chamber, no injurys but really scared him. the glock people would not stand behind their product, they simply refused to believe that the explosion was not his fault some how. now as far as i know it may have been his fault, but they should stand behind their product. being an ak man myself i havent experienced any trouble like that. i really wish i had remembered the model no# of that dangd, ol glock i would have passed it on to you guys, all i can say is apparently lifetime warranty is to some co. only a sales pitch.

Mr hi-point I had two 9mm one was a compact the other was a comp package . I to was drawn in by the price . soon I found out that they would jamm 6 out of 10 shots everytime . so I sold one for $20.00 and gave the other away and bought a 9mm desert eagle " baby eagle " it's a perfectly crafted work of art that I can count on . here's some good advice when looking for a firearm.
............how much is your life worth......

My life is worth quite a bit, that's why I can defend myself without a gun. I am not a p**sy like many men out there. I don't think there is anything wrong with carring a gun but my life doesn't rest on my shooting ability. I am 32 yrs old and get in probably one good fight a year. Of course fighting is not the answer but it's in my tool box if I need the skills. How often have you needed a gun? For me it is 0, and I have had guns pulled on me, even put in my mouth, it still didn't kill me. Even when I got mugged and stabbed I lived without pulling a gun. If I need to pull out a gun a high point won't be the first, but if I do pull it I know I can hit what I want, I prefer to snipe my targets but if I had to I have a closet full of guns. Also if I pull a gun out I will be using it, not some bluff or BS To the people that don't believe I shot the plastic zebra, yall s**k. I don't give a f**k about the stupid opinions here. I was a good soldier and learned a lot. There are 1000's of men that can shoot better than me, but I know I can consistantly shoot all kill shots with my pistol at 50 ft. I actually am as equipted as most soldiers, I wear my gear when I shoot and practice with the same gear I will use if SHTF. I am loosing respect for many of the members here, who have never been in an elite airborne infantry unit or seen combat but yet they talk a lot of sh*t, I would love to communicate with men of honor but it's getting hard to find civilians who understand that. I talk it like I walk it. Sorry if I am ranting! Any how, peace to all my vet brothers, God bless everyone who lives with God, Duty, Country,
and Honor, formost in their lives.

PS I am not MR Highpoint, I was an airborne soldier so show a little respect. Thank You
Also Did you call the factory about your problems? Doesn't sound like it to me. They are very customer orientated.

11BC2,
I see by your rant that you don't truly understand ANYTHING about the responsibility of concealed carry and frankly, you are doing us ALL a favor by not. "One good fight a year?" What does that have to do with anything? It is very obvious that you broadcast but are unable to receive. That is unfortunate. As for your "elite" airborne status; I was humping the boonies with HQ CO 8TH Marines when you were making pillow babies....you "could" learn a lot of good info from this site, son....grow up.

Leigh it is obvious you don't care for me and I surely don't care for you so can keep you c**k holster shut and not bother repling to me. Unless you have something positive to say, are you trolling or what. I could sit here and verbally sodomize you but that's not why I post here, I only started this thread to tell others what great service I had not to start a pissing contest with some old man. So can we just agree that I act like a child sometimes and well you do too. I do thank you for your service to our country and we really are on the same side. I am not your son and you do not measure up to my father. Thanks, have a good night.

First off I would like to say that YES I DID call to report to HI-POINT that both guns were defective and they did say that they would fix them but the damn things were brand fucking new ( they should not have had any problems WHAT SO EVER if they were in fact quality ) You will find in the future that good service does not cut the mustard when firearms are involved . QUALITY is ALL that matters. SECOND I would like to point out that being good with your fists IS a plus BUT you dont have the ability to control every incounter with every person in this world ( if you could you would never need a gun ) THIRD I never douted that you were in the service. if you did spend time in the milatary then I would like to extend a THANK YOU for that . LASTLY I wuold like to say that the HI_POINT firearms are cheep ( there is no way anyone can say any different its a fact ) the are poorly crafted from a lesser grade material and have an undesireable trigger pull. NOW I have no dout that your life is valubale or that you have more than one gun and i'm glad to hear it . If in the future you want to buy a low cost rugged good quality handgun try a MINI-MAX 9MM . I test fired one today ( 280 rounds of mix-n-match ammo ) and there was no misfeeds ,misfires, and it shot ( point of aim out of the box.
Thank you for your time...............Mark M
Any of the BRAVE men or women who have served this nation in peace time or in war , on our soil or around the world GOD BLESS YOU ............you will NEVER be forgotten

If you buy what you want and are happy with it then that is all that matters. Life time warranty is a good thang too!
As for a GLOCK? My CZ 40B can shoot with it, half the price and extremly reliable. Just my 1 min. of fame

Thanks Mark M, I appreciate the way you post your opinion and I thank you for your reviews and gun advice. I am happy we can be civilized here even when we disagree on somethings. I am impressed. I was getting the feeling that some members were just trolling, this softends that opinion. As far a fighting I have a quick temper and it is my worst point, I am a likable guy as long as I am not rattled too bad.
I was just trying to point out that really how many times in your life was a gun necessary? For me maybe once when I was stabbed from behind in my thigh and mugged, but even then I managed with out a gun, although hind sight it would have been nice to kill the "bad person". :p

I have a high-point 9mm compact that I take to the range just to piss off my cousin ( a cop) and my brother ( a cop). It always works and mine is as accurate as anything they are shooting (glock 23's). I generally out shoot them but that has more to do with my having more range time than they do.
The gun was $89 NIB @ a local show and fit my large hand perfectly so I gave it a try. It's heavy, fugly, and the safety sucks for quick use but it has never jammed in 800 rnds.
Would I use it for CCW or home defense..NEVER. but when friends want to shoot a few of my rounds out of one of my weapons guess what I loan them...

Folks, let's watch our language and for crying out loud, let's keep debates on the subject and not get personal.
I have a quick temper, too. But flaming just turns everybody off on a thread and is not productive.
I personally thought Hi-Points were jamomatics until I read this thread. Shows me what I get for believing stereotypes!

A friend of mine has a highpoint carbine, I only shot it one time .
We put several boxes through it without any problems.
we were nailing cowpies in his pasture out past 100 yards, with a little"Kentucky elevation".
I'd say that it was worth what he paid for it.
I remember a gun rag( don't remember which one) doing a review on the carbine, they recomended it for budget minded Police deptments.
If they'd make the carbine in .45acp I'd pick one up.

Dear Moderator,
Swear words have been edited. My ONLY intent was to share with the people here a good experience I had, that's it.
Just to say I had good service. Lordscorpianviper thinks I am a liar, well El barfo was there and the zebra is in my desk. I walk it like I talk it. I just wanted to say I had good service from Hipoint that's it. Man I never knew what trolls were until I came here and now I wonder if every post on here is infected with trolling?
I wonder do the members here act this way at the VFW, cause at my post they treat everyone with respect. I have learned so much from the Senior guys here, I felt like I needed to share something in return. I had good service from Hipoint that's it, darn.

It's just the Gun World I'm afraid. Opinions are like........well, you know!:D
I have had my share of heated debates around here and Secesh can vouch for that. But to other readers, the education quality of a post might increase when a debate starts - it drops the minute it starts getting personal though.
