A friend builds nice M-1 Carbine shooters. He told me to locate a G.I. reciever and G.I. Parts kit and he'd try to fit a build up in to his busy schedule...I think I may need to beg a bit, but I'd sure appreciate any info. regarding where I might look to purchase the items he needs and what you think I should expect to pay to buy them.
Thanks!
Bob

SOG in NY sometimes has old M1 Carbine receivers. I think they are about $125. Springfield armory makes them too and I think they are down to about $95.

Not up on where the kits are these days, SOG may have them. Last ones I saw were about $260. So it looks like you're going to be in the $360+ range.

Israeli Arms Intl. in TX makes them....I just ordered one myself. Will post a report when I get to the dealer to pick it up.

1 Patriot of Many,
I'd love to hear your range report. I had a cheapo
M-1...a current manuf. and I can't remember the name,
but it jammed alot and I really want a shooter.

Here's the website to whet your appetite....I probably won't get to pick it up Tues at the earliest...I'll try to remember to grab some ammo if the dealer has some too....

Won't say run out and buy one since I haven't shot it yet...But
Looks great....It's Walnut not Birch like I figured it would be...The Walnut is actually more expensive so I have to hand it to AIM...THEY ARE THE MAN!!!
Also came with a 10 round mag,Bayo and sheath both look brand new GI issue.....Everything looks perfect....The 15rnd GI mags I purchased don't go in as easy/nice as the 10 round PC mag,But not a big issue......Was going to get a video capture device so I could film and post stills but all I could find was lowres 320x devices........So I can't post a pic yet....But judging from the way it looks definintely worth $375.....Hopefully it will shoot as well as it looks.A cool little carbine, very light, very short, would even make a good home defense rifle(not as good as a pistol of course, but it's very wieldable).
