I thought I sounded like a real whiner and bitcher, the way I've been talking about my Turks. But, after checking out this detailed appraisal by several Turks owners,I don't feel so bad.

These guys are right on the money and like them,my Turk metal is really good,it was the wood that needed so much work.

8 hours of sanding and finishing today, has the wood looking much,much,better.

that unsanded wood is wood where the old finish was steamed off and all dents were raised. Hence why they're so thick. I found a spec of finish on mine about 1/8x1/4 that they missed. I've got big hands so I just took some 0000 to it and finished it.

Dang it! Wanted to see that article on Turkish Mausers but the Compootr Nazis on my base block so many sites I couldn't get to it. Any chance you could excerpt/quote some of the most important parts and post them here...
