How hard would it be to build a 1911 from a parts kit?

to me it would be easy.where are you going to get a kit from.now I saw a place where you can get everything but the frame you had to carve out a few places and you where good to go. but you have to register the weapon because it has no ser#.
just get a #1911 army manual and your good to go.

I've seen standard 1911 parts kits, but I haven't seen any for wide body 1911s. How would one go about building a wide body? I know the frame is different, but are the other parts different as well?

I really can't do it with out a hassle here in NY. I would have to go to a dealer and buy a frame, then put the frame on my CCW permit. Then order a parts kit and build it.

It is just not worth it...

It would be fun to do if I lived in a free state.
