1. Got a good deal on the two lower ones so I went ahead and got them. The top one is giving me fits with the headspace problem but the bottem two are like swiss watches. perfect.

1. I cant tell you, you would cry, but I got two for the price of one actually, Handpick #5's at SOG are $280.00.
2. Century's are what you see is what you get. These are beautiful and I aint doing anything to them except clean the middle one. No stain, no tru-oil, just as they are:D

1. Im just guessing. The cartridge is expanding out and belling at the base. This is a strong indication that something is wrong. it could be the Federal Classic Ammo I used or it could be a extremely dirty chamber which is what Im leaning towards
2. I cleaned the chamber with steelwool on the end of a drill bit and this reduces the problem but it was still there. I am sending her off to a friend that has guages that will check headspacing and i will know soon.

Nice score, Neil! I really like that honey colored stock on the middle one. I assume the numbers on that top one don't match...

hmmmmmmmmmm-jungle triplets, sounds like girls i used to know in high school hmmmmmmmmm.
i had an old timer tell me how to check headspace on rifles i didn't have a guage for
add two layers of masking tape to the base of an unfired round, trim it up around the base and then C-A-R-E-F-U-L-L-Y chamber the round and see if the bolt was stiff to close. it's worked on everything but my two swedes.
this may be a bunch of crap, but it made me feel better. i'd have a small fortune in headspace guages with all the different chamberings i have otherwise.

1. No they dont, That was a Century Good, The other Two are SOG handpicked. I got them from a guy in the area which purchased them then needed cash. But they both have matching serial numbers.
2. The top one dont though.
