first impression,
ingenious utilitarian design yet very rugged and sleek at the same time
its a bulgarian circle 10 importer looks like someone called cal georgia vt
question where are the important parts to keep lubed?
I did the barrel and recoil spring and the trigger and hammer assembly and the rails
anything else?
oh and how do you get the cosmoline out of the magazines?
well I hope she shoots as good as she looks

I disassembled the magazines for mine, and ran a rag soaked with lemon oil through it. Lemon oil cuts cosmoline really quick.

As far as lubing goes, I don't know what you're supposed to keep lubed on it, but I oil the slide release spring, put a thin film of
oil on the mainspring, thin film of oil on the outside of the barrel, and use gun grease on the rails on the bottom of the slide. Seems to keep everything moving pretty smoothly.

BEFORE YOU SHOOT IT, remember to remove the firing pin and clean out the COSMO! If you don't, you may have some full auto fire or slamfires due to the firing pin not retracting. The firing pin has no spring, so when you shake the handgun, it should rattle. Remove the safety by turning clockwise to about the 2pm position, where it will let you pull it out (have the slide racked back before you do this, or better yet, remove it), REMEMBER TO MAKE SURE THE FIREARM IS UNLOADED!!!. The firing pin SHOULD drop out now (remember the position of the pin, as it only goes back in one way!), clean out the chamber with a q-tip or something similar, clean the firing pin, LIGHTLY lube, and replace.

You can see pics of this at www.makarov.com.

Oops. Forgot about that. When I picked my Mak up from the gun shop, I stripped it down to individual parts (as much as I could without driving the barrel pins out, etc...) and de-cosmo'ed them individually, then put them back in. You may also want to take the extractor & spring out and de-cosmo them as well.
