Gents,

Give me some opinions here on my sanity. I own a Galil .308 sporter and a few mags. I have barely fired it (less than 100 rounds), and got it when the prices were good. Nice gun, shoots fine, but....

I have always wanted a Dragunov. I have considered the Romak-3, but it isn't the realy McCoy. So....

Should I trade or sell my Galil to get a Dragunov? What is my Galil worth? Which Dragunov should I get?

Or is this a crazy idea, given that my Galil is such a fine weapon.

All comments welcome, and I will cross post to the Galil, etc. forum

Take a close look at the Chinese NDM-86 rifles that are floating around lately. Same configuration as the Dragunov, just shoots the standard 7.62mm NATO round. They are really accurate ( possibly sub-moa) if good ammunition is used. There's my $.02.

P.S.-----I think you are certifiably crazy if you are thinking of selling a fine weapon like the Galil for a Dragunov-style weapon.

Select-fire,

The NDM is the one I would probably pick, but I think you are right. I need to keep the Galil. It falls in the "always wanted one" category for me as well, and it seems pointless to give up one such weapon for another. I will just pinch some pennies and try to pick up a Romak-3 if I have to have something like that.

Thanks for the reply, and good shooting!
