View Full Version : Any info on Galil Hadar II in .308?
I'm interested in these rifles. I have a .308 ARM and love it. Don't know much about the Hadar II's though.
Any info appreciated.

It's sort of a "Saiga" version of a Galil. It would take a little work to turn it into a Galil clone, and unless it had evil features before the ban went into effect, then it's post-ban and you can't add any. So if you're thinking about buying one to convert into a Galil, it would have to have a fixed stock, some US parts to have a pistol grip, no flash hider or bayonet lug, etc.
As the rifle goes I would think it's a dynamite gun. The only real differences between it and a Galil are cosmetic. It even takes Galil mags. They also don't cost a whole lot compared to a Galil. If you're looking for a more PC version of your ARM, or just a shooter it would be worth it. Mag interchangability with your ARM is a big plus.

Thanks Ross.
I've heard rumors that they had better trigger groups than the standard Galils. Any truth there?

Galil Hadar II. This rifle is about as accurate of a Galil you can get without spending $10K! It’s action is the same as the Sniper rifle, but with a target style stock. The rifle was made in September of 1988, but was imported as viewed. The Smith Brake was on it when I got it, and I don’t know if it actually came with it from the factory, but I doubt it. The caliber is 308, taking the same mags as the other Galils. It comes with one 5 round factory mag. I bought this for a guy in California, before the end of the year, and he stiffed me! Wes at Soupbowl thinks this could be a great project, and has an inside at IMI to convert this to something better if desired. Price is $1195. http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/bin/imageserver.x/000a0994/ecasino/Hadar.jpg
