What are experiences with bullet weights over 130 gr. for ak-47. Do .308 vs .310/311/312 diameters have significant effect. Imagine bullet seating depth is factor. What about crimp, no crimp etc.

150's are preferred for hunting. Otherwise stick to the 123-125gr weight. Yes, diameter makes a difference. Most domestics are either .308 bore,or have a .311 throat and a .308 bore. For most AK's, stick to .310 or .311. Again, check your barrel to know for sure. Seating depth isn't as much of a factor as you would think with the 123gr weight. Generally this is because there simply isn't much shank on the bullet to allow for a great variety of seating depths. Perhaps some have found that it helps with 150's, but I don't have anough experience shooting them to know! I don't need to crimp, as most loads that I shoot are highly compressed. I try to avoid crimping rifle ammo at all costs.
I see no improvement over shooting 150 FMJ or match bullets in .308 through a bolt gun.
