I see the price has gone down about $20 since the last shipment. Are these as cool as they look? Yeah, I know about the expensive and hard to find ammo, but remember I shoot a VZ-52 in 762x45 too, so I'm used to having no ammo!;)
What do you guys think? Next C&R purchase when I miss out on an Albanian SKS?

For the condition and quality and all the crap you get with it I think they're a better value than the SKS even if the ammo is expensive. I haven't shot mine yet either but whos2kno swears by his and he's put 200 rounds through it. When you consider the cost of some US ammo at $15 per 20 on some calibers $8.95 for a box of 20 7.5 MAS doesn't sound too bad. I really like my MAS.

I picked mine up over the weekend and shot it that night. You won't be disapointed. Very gratifying to shoot. Recoil is a little more than an SKS and the accuracy is deadly. Definitely a manly rifle, even if it was manufactured by sissies.

Redstar, where did you buy $8.50/box MAS ammo. Last I bought was the INDEP from Coles Dist. and it was $12.95/20
It is reloadable brass though and I have bought the dies to reload this caliber.

SOG has it, newer Portuguese production $8.95 per 20, I'm pretty sure it's reloadable, it's a Portuguese commercial production.
You can get 1000 rounds for $468

Yeah that is the INDEP or Independent Cartridge Comapny offering. I have not received an SOG flyer since I gave them my license and bought the MAS. Are you sure it is 7.5MAS and not 7.5 Swiss? Last I knew, they had the Swiss but not the frnech.

yeah, I'm sure I ordered both types, they're from the same co indep. I just ordered 200 rounds of MAS this morning $99 and change shipped.

If I get one of these I'm gonna hold out for the 7.62N. My friend has one and I love it. They cost a bit more but the ammo savings are worth it.

Hope you get a 7.62 that works without the modifications! Check the MAS boards, there are alot of unhappy folks who bought those. I believe Century rechambered those rifles and you know what kind of work they are capable ( incapable ) of turning out. Look at some of the SAR's, CETME's and L1A1's that came out of their shop! REDSTAR posted a link to the guy that does the mods for the 7.62's, you might want to bookmark it for future ref! As far as I know the 7.5 rifles function perfectly out of the box and reloaded 7.5 costs the same as 7.62. Just my $.02 worth.
