Here you go ------->Info on post ban brakes (http://assaultweb.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002317.html)
I would suggest avoiding Bushmaster brakes. They are painfully loud and fail miserable in the "cool" factor deptment.

Gary

I own several Bushmasters and have spoken to their gunsmiths, they said the AK brake is the most effective. If you have a 20" H-bar you don't need a muzzle brake. I have a V-match carbine with the AK brake and it works great.:1919:

Hand down the best muzzle brake I have ever shot was the Bushmaster full sized (3 ports) Y-COMP followed closely by the Bushmaster AK. The Mini Y-COMP works quite well.

I have tried many, Kurts Kustom, Wilson Combat, Smith Enterprises, some of the DPMS brakes, Armalite factory brakes, ect, ect, ect.

recon,

What you have is a flash hider, not a muzzle brake. Thus it can't be used on a post ban rifle. :)

Agree with USMC, but would point out that the Y-Comp is louder for shooters beside you as it directs the blast more to the rear than does the AK break.

Thats why I get all those strange looks at the range, I'm always the loudest one there.:D

I have the Ak brake on my 14.5 shorty. My friends get pretty pissed when they stand close to me when I shoot. they say it sends the blast right back into their face.

Sounds like neither one would be that great for noise loundness! So what is the quietest one to have? :(
