Picked up a brand new milsurp Mauser stock at a gunshow this weekend. Trouble is I don't which particular Mauser it would belong to and neither did the seller. Wood is straight grained with a reddish tint. Buttplate is a "flat" style. Right side of stock near butt is stamped "1.TRZ" and on the opposite side is a four digit serial? number. Sling swivel is mounted right behind the pistol grip on the bottom of the stock. There's three cartouches near this swivel, one looks like a crown, one looks like an "N" and the other is ???. No sling cut or metal "button" on stock. Bayonet lug looks like a normal 98 type. Handguard is not a 98K as it has the wood between the rear sight and receiver ring. Saw a Turk M1938 on J&G website and it's not this model. I commented to an experienced Mauser collector that it wasn't a Yugo Mauser and he stated that not all Yugo's have sling cuts in the stock. Any ideas? Educated guesses? Wild guesses??

Welcome to the boards! My guess because of the TRZ is that it's from some Czech rifle. Is the receiver recess 98 large ring size? Also is it for a 30 inch barreled rifle or a short 24 inch K98k type rifle?

That sounds just like the stock on my V24/47.
