Dave Emory of Hornady just wrote this article and it's now on the Carcano homepage. Any of you afraid to buy a Carcano because you heard that "it will blowup on you" need to read this.

No problema guys!
When I first started picking up Carcanos back in the 70's, I must admit, I flinched alot when shooting them due to all the crappola I heard about them.
It is comforting to know it is one of the strongest actions out there (90,000 psi or better).
Now I can calmly squeeze off each round without worrying about my demise!:D

It was good enough for Oswald.

Well, since 6.5 milsurp is all used up, there's not much chance of ammo getting cheaper.
The good news is that Dave Emary of Hornady is a regular on Tucos Italian rifle forum and has gotten Bill Hornady interested in producing a .268 6.5mm bullet. The current PRVI Partizan and Norma 6.5 Carcano ammo all uses .264 bullets, and are not as accurate even as the old Italian milsurp.
Handloading is the best way to go with this cartridge, and with decent .268 bullets, handloads should be at least as accurate as the Winchester-Western CIA stuff Oswald somehow got ahold of.
