i called them yesterday to order a few parts. i asked for a 1st variation rear sight ass. and locking bolt ass. the guy didn't know what "1st variation" meant  . and he had an attitude also, like i'm some kind of idiot for knowing the correct name of the parts i wanted.
they have been selling these parts for years and they don't even know the correct name of them. not good.
i called today to add a ejector spring to that order and the lady said "you men do that all the time", ok no :bigdeal:
but then i find out it IS a big deal "to them", because they don't even use computers to do their orders etc on , and have to shuffle papers to add it to my order. i wonder if they ever heard of the internet ?
i got to tell ya, this scares me ! i have no idea what i'm going to get in the mail. i can almost bet it will be wrong. and then of cource it will be my fault  when i try to correct the problem.

Bwhahahahaha! Springfield Sporters must be owned by a crusty old fart that hasn't got a clue how to turn on a computer. 5 years ago they didn't have one and I hear now they still don't. Somethings never change it seems.
BTW, you know the world operated quite nicely up until the mid 80's without computers for inventory control guys. Shock horror! I shit you not!;)

"you know the world operated quite nicely up until the mid 80's without computers for inventory control guys."
yeah, i know it did. the thing is i don't want 80's "quite nicely" shipping quality. i want late 90's & up excellent (AIM) shipping quality. wait ! they told me it wouldn't got out till next week, so i guess i got 60's shipping quality

well as long as i get what i told them (in as close to their language as i could get) i will be real happy. i'm getting used to waiting for things:)

I just had to chime in on this one .
I was looking at a ad for springfield sporters last nov and suddenly realized that they were only about 1hr frome where I live, so one morning I set out to find them.
After two hr's and 20 back roads I found them!
The place is really neat! You go through a chain link fence surrounding what appear to be a few old, but well kept warehouses.
The showroom is great with racks of all of the guns that you see in the ads , and boxes of extras that are not advertised. I would not doubt that your order may take awhile to get to you but I would bet that they will get you the correct parts. The lady who helped me was very patient with all of my questions and when I got home and started to look through the catalog they gave me , I realized that they have parts for many more guns than they advertise.
Hope your order is ok
