I want to reload using lead bullets with gaschecks for the 7,62x39 to be used in the AK47.

Would this provide problems eg. lead fouling in the gaschamber, etc.

Any comments?

That's pretty interesting. Seems like if you did you would have to use a pretty hard alloy so it wouldn't deform the bullet while loading into chamber. Also, semis like AKs get to be fired pretty rapidly; causing the barrells to get pretty hot. I think that would tend to make the lead alloy leave a thin film on the bore as it moved down the bore and would also tend to deposit lead in the gas port, blocking it after a relatively "few" rounds. My reason for saying that is because we were taught not to use a long string of tracers in our 60s as the tracer compound would add extra heat to the bore and cause the copper jackets to copper "plate" the bore.
Of course, we would be willing for you to be the person to experiment with your AK and let us know thr results. :D
