STAY AWAY from steel-cased lacquered Russian ammo, such as Wolf.
US and South African surplus seems fine, PMC is good .223 for under 3.50 a box of 20, and federal American Eagle has good brass.

I've shot 400 rounds through my Bushy, 500 through the Colt no problems, even checked the extractors on both and they look brand new no wear at all, what's the scoop?

Invest in a good reloding starter kit and learn to reload. I get sub MOA groups out of my post bam HBAR. And you tweak a load to your gun.

can the wolf ammo damage your weapon?

The wolf ammo has that laquer. It won't harm your rifle it just melts off and starts to gum it up at about 300 rds or so. You can clean it out and it will shoot fine afterwards. It's accuracy is ok, and it is cheap to buy so I use it most of the time. I've shot at least 3000 rds through my Bushmaster and everything is still good.
