I got a MKI No.4, but my digital camera is broke and my PC with the scanner is in a heap of parts:( and I am too lazy to fix it:D

It's in good shape, however the arsenal marking were ground off so I don't know where it was made:( I really like it and I plan on getting another or or several more:D

Long Branch No 4 Mk1*(Canada)
Savage marked bolt. Never been FTR'd
Matching serial on bayo
No import marks.

http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=359425

The original painted finish is flaked on some spots
as it has never been "Factory Through Repaired"
but it is a nice original Enfield. it was my first C&R when I had my license back in the 80's.

I have been very lucky finding rifles without import marks
It is surprising how many rifles get out of Century unstamped.

Minty for such an old rifle!

The BSA is deadly accurate and rock solid to. Like the saying goes "They don't make them like that anymore!"

I lust for a nice WW1 BSA. A dealer in Goshen had a nice one on the rack but by the time I scraped the cash together it was gone.
Most of the ones I see have a frosty bore or are pitted.

Schuetzenman,

That's a good looking pair. Funny story, I took mine to a gunshow once and had a British veteran politely chastise me for having my sling on backwards, like the one shown in your picture. He made a big deal of how the buckles are always on the inside to keep the shinny side from being seen. Up until then, I didn't know there was a frontwards and backwards on the mounting of these slings.

i have heard that also. "the early slings were brass". so as he said" the shiny part had to be against your body so when you were trapesing through the jungle, the enemy wouldnt locate you b/c of shine".
guess they know/learn from experience.
who am i to know, just someone who loves and wants to learn all i can about these beauties!
i like seeing everyones enfields, keep up the pics.

Hadn't heard that before. From a comfort level point of view it's installed as you see it. Guess I'll have to reverse it to be correct!;)

Thanks for the compliment. BTW the top one is the Savage and the bottom is the Mk II, dating from 1954 if I remember correctly.
