ques. regarding mag. cutoff

i have a MkIII* with the cypher crown of georgius rex. factory marking under crown "enfield"wich is rsaf,enfield.
i think date is 1916, best i can make out its a 6
model and mark is Sht L E III*

now my ques. it has a mag. cutoff and according to the book"use of the cutoff was suspended with the approval of the Mk III* rifle in jan.1916(although it does reappear on ishapore, lithgow, and bsa rifles man. after wwI).
how in the hell does mine have the cutoff? the guns all original no import marks.

It is what it is. Probably one of the last ones before the cuttoff was eliminated is all. Stuff like this doesn't start and stop on a dime so to speak. Plenty of transition often occurs on such matters.
