What kind of sights do these have? I am guessing standard open sights.

Yup
The rear sight notch in kind of small like Nagant but I dont have much of a problem with it.

I always use iron sights and dont have any of my rifles scoped.

More specifically, a post front and U-notched rear.

I believe pre- '11 series Schmidt-Rubins had barleycorn front sights.
