View Full Version : Grass roots effort? Anyone want to help?

Hello all,
Everyday people post here about some Org or Company that has done something against gun owners or has an anti gun stance. Everyday people come to these threads and bitch about said company or Org (myself included).
What I am proposing is a grass roots effort to send e-mails to these companies and let them know they lost a customer or possibly multiple customers. We could use a thread to post the e-mail of these jerks and post our sample e-mails for other people to paste and copy to send through their e-mail. I have no interest in a power trip or making rules for this, I just want to do something on a level that us little guys can do. I already started firing off letters to reps and companies over the last month in this effort.
At this time we have a powerful communication tool at our disposal "The Internet" If we duplicate efforts we could spend maybe 10-15 mins every couple of days sending these messages out. It can be done in the time everyone spends cruising this site.
I am dead serious about this! If your interested start posting people, companies, and orgs that have an anti gun stance. If you don't have a good e-mail address for them we will find them. If they don't have e-mail at all we can get a fax number some how. If you don't feel like being involved, but you know of a group that is anti gun post it anyway and I or someone else will send them a note.
I don't care what kind of message you want to send, just send something to let them know of your displeasure.
Thanks,
SangRun

Just something to remember if you don't do anything......
(I grabbed this from another thread)
I thought these gun buyback prices for Austrailia were interesting. the current exchange rate is 100 Aussie dollars = 50 US dollars (ie divide all the prices in half). The spacing is a little messed up on used vs new but you get the idea.
1. Is my gun up for grabs? and if so, how much will I receive?

Here is letter I sent to Dell the other day
E-mail address BSD_On-Line_Order_Support@dell.com
Title: Post 9-11 policies
Dear Dell,
Please take some consideration of my letter. The story about a Gunsmith
being denied a purchase of a Dell PC due to some strange post 9-11
screening process is all over the internet on discussion boards and chat
rooms. Many people have expressed their disgust with Dell and not to
mention the annoying "Your getting a Dell dude" commercials that most of
us are tired of anyway.
This situation just reinforces why I would not touch your product with a
10 foot pole. I am a technology support person for one of your partners
and we have had a terrible time getting Dell's fixed when there is an
issue because of Dell's practices.
We are even granted a discounted price on a personal purchase of Dell's
which is still outrageous when you consider building one yourself with
better components or a competitors PC.
Have fun trying to sell your over priced PC's as your bumbling actions
have greatly angered some of the gun owners and patriots of America.
SangRun Hunter,
The easiest way to lose any battle?? Is don't fight.

why not make this idea into its own forum? seems alot of new forums have popped up lately, some rather redundent. this would be a good one for the cause, for the family and families to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that would be a good idea myself.
Anybody else?

I second the idea of giving this its own form. Perhaps if corporate America realized that there are millions of gun owners that will vote with their check books they will get the point and stop throwing money at groups like HCI.
Jamie
SangRun Hunter
Then there are but two choices.
Fight a good fight or Talk a good fight.
Folks here are singing to the choir..
Twist my arm about our Rights, you twisted.. But if anyone here does not realize that in this fight?? I do not count, nor do you or protector76239 or jbutenhoff nor anyone on this BBS...
Convincing gun owners that guns are a Right is a waste of time.. Working with gun owners to reach others? That is a positive investment...
Ever notice how the democrats, republicans and third party always cater to various special interest groups??
Well with 60 million gun owners in America? We could tip any National election.. We could demand from Congress... Its like having a 60 million man ARmy and never using it in combat..

HDR,
That's why I decided to start this idea up because there are so many of us and I see so few doing anything to promote our ideas in a healthy way. I don't see to many looking at this thread either, but its only been a couple of hours :D
What I see is a way to fight back without paying any dues or following guidelines set down by someone else. No one has to vote on rules or policies or even show up at a certain time. To me its easy! Just post a news story or link from another site about a company, individual, rep, or Org and we can pick and choose when we want to send them a message.
I have been to other gun sites and I don't see this happening. You guys that bitch about the NRA, here is a way to do your own protesting. Make your own mark on the world, then no one can say you never tried to help your cause in some way. Its obvious that we can't move to a western state and hord weapons for killing judges or become a Koresh. We can't march in the Capitol with our AK's and hope not to get gunned down by Federal's at this point in history. We can show our solidarity by doing soemthing simple and legal for now.

cynical? im not understanding where your coming from. is it your intent to discourage? i think floods of emails would be somewhat viable. i think this because it would be impossible for the companys to figure out which demographic said mails are from. so they would have to at least consider them.

I think some kind of "Watch List of Anti-Second Amendment Companies and Organizations Forum" is a great idea. As a motorcyclist I find the AMA's website extremely helpful in contacting the people in DC about issues that concern me as a rider. I"ve become very pro-active regarding my right to ride through the links on their website, thanks to the internet. Sending an e-mail is just so much easier than composing a letter. Where I previously would think about sending a letter and never get around to it, the internet has made it so quick and easy that I respond and react to much more than I used to. I think if you make it easy enough a lot more people's voices would be heard.
In fact it should be expanded to the "Watch List of Anti-Second Amendment Politicians , Companies and Organizations Forum" with links to the proper e-mail addresses. I'll let everybody know what they do that pisses me off.

I like the idea of a separate forum for political action. A member finding an issue worthy of consideration could submit the facts to the forum with a required minimum amount of information. Once approved by the administrator or moderator as a CRITICAL ISSUE, a mass e-mail alert could be sent to all members with a link to the thread. The thread should have an "example text" to be cut and pasted and sent by e-mail via corresponding link.
What stops me from participating effectively? 1] never heard of the issue, 2] don’t know what to do about it & 3] don’t know who\how to contact.
We could easily stuff e-mail inboxes from here to kingdom come in just a few minutes.
