I just got a Norinco 56S with fixed stock. It's 7.62x39mm but the wierd thing is it has a 20" barrel. I was told this was because it was imported into Canada first and it had to be that long to meet the laws. Is this right? The serial number is 7024XX and it has a stamped receiver. Does anyone know more about this gun like when it was manufactured and imported or anything else interesting?
I'm considering having a class 2 manufacturer friend make this into a machine gun. He'll register the gun and keep it and I can go shoot it when I want, but I need to know if this is a good gun to convert. Any opinions?
