On my Mak-91 national match 19in. barrel, the milled receiver has a angle on the rear not straight. it only has a top tang with one screw. how do you fit a pistol grip and black Bulgurian stock to this. I'd think 1 screw would not hold the stock. Is this a thumbhole only model?

does it have two big holes on the rear of the reciver? the angled rear sounds like that of a underfolder reciver.

I had an Egyptian Maadi that had the same angled rear. It also had a plate welded into the hole to prevent a stock from being inserted. A friend told me that this was an underfolder receiver that had not been stamped with the hole for civilian sale.

The reason the rifle has this angle cut is precisely so you CAN'T install a pistol grip. There is a kit I've heard that allows you to reweld the peice back on, but it sounds a little troublesome. The Soupbowl US-made stock kits can be specially made to fit these rifles but you have to send it in so Wes can take the measurements.

I have the same exact rifle. I got a US parts kit from RPB. The wood furniture is American black walnut and looks real nice. The buttstock is attached by a bolt that screws into a threaded aluminum block that sits inside the back of the receiver. It feels real solid. I've also talked to someone at ACE ltd., he said that they make a stock that fits this rifle. I don't think there's any way to make the bulgarian stock fit. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I can verify what 11B is saying. I have a milled norinco with an angle cut rear. (16inch tube) and the damn thing shoots 1.5moa with norinco ammo. Simply astounding! And mine has the brightest, smoothest bore of any ak I have ever seen! Peroid! I must get a US parts kit and dole it up right. It has earned it.

Yo Bush, Get a spacer from Federal Arms co, West Hurley, MN. Put on Bulgarian Black stock, bet Black Steel or clear plastic resin (Glue) from Lowes hardware, put spacer in, bondo it to frame, sand to correct shape, and you'll never know the difference. If you get the clear plastic, mix ink in with it for color.
