i am interested in a dpms lower rec. to build an ar-15. how do they compare with bushmaster? are they compatible with bushmaster uppers or other popular aftermarket uppers such as model one sales or m and a parts? what is the price range on the lowers? any help on this would be appreciated.:duece:

Most lowers sold are compatible with any upper you buy, the main problem is the difference in finish, I have seen many variations with the same company with the upper kit, best bet is to buy the upper kit and then match it with a lower at a gun show, that's what I did with my bushy/J&T kit and my oly/J&T kit, there may or may not be some fine tuning but that's why we're here, we'll help you on that. DPMS, from what I have read makes a fine lower.

The quality of a DPMS is great but they do have that big ugly logo on them.

thanks for the info. i have owned two bushmaster lowers and had no problems. the second i bought stripped and built it per the instructions on this site. the dpms lower seems decent for the price. i hope to buy one stripped, hang on to it for awhile and build it up with a parts kit into a good close quarters combat gun. i carry a m-4 on my job as an air force sp.:1919:
