After squeezing off a dozen or so Yugo 8mm military surplus rounds through my M-48 rifle, I encountered this problem.
After firing off the last round I pulled the bolt back to let another round take it's place, as I push the bolt forward to chamber another round into the barrel I notice the bolt did not want to close. After several attempts at closing the bolt, I finally pulled it back.
The new round was in the barrel where it should be, but it was stuck in there and didn't want to come out.
Anyone know what cause this and how do I avoid situations like this in the future, if possible?

Mechanical Zero,
First off let me say "welcome to the C&R Forums of AK-47.net! :)
Question for you . . . did you feed the rounds from the mag or just drop them in the open reciever and shove the bolt forward on the round?
What newbies often do is just drop in one round at a time and then they baby the bolt closing. This prevents the rim if the cartridge from going uner the claw of the extractor. That's why the bolt won't close and when you pulled the bolt back the round styed in the chamber. The cleaning rod in the rifle can be unscrewed and then dropped in the bore to knock out the round most times. Also you can try smacking the buttplate on a shooting bench (provided its wood) to jar the round loose.
To avoid this the best way is to press the rounds into the internal magazine so that the rims will feed up into the notch of the extractor claw.

Dear Schuetzenman:
Thank you for your warm welcome, but actually I have been around for awhile, but thank you just the same.
And in reply to your question, I did load all five rounds with a stripper clip, but it got stuck, anyway. That's the part that I don't understand.
Anyway, that's some pretty good advise on extracting the bullet from the chamber. I just hope that sucker doesn't go off on me.
Thanks again and hunting hunting.

Humm stripper loaded and still had the problem. Some how it must have popped out in front of the claw. But really the extractors are supposed to be able to move out and then hook around a rim if just dropped in. Check with a flash light to make sure that there isn't a bunch of cosmoline in the receiver clearance cut for the extractor. That or anything else in there would prevent the claw from being able to move to the right enough to jump over the rim on the round.
Been here for a while? Youhave a post count of 2. Is this a psuedonym for you or did you forget your password to another handle? ;)

Actually this is my one and only handle. I don't really post anything except for this time. I like going through the different forums and reading and getting advise and see what others have to say.
