History
I have been using firearms of all sorts for over 30 years.
Never have I used any with a trigger as sloppy as the one in my SAR-1.
The first stage pull was very long. The second stage was very unpredictable.
I found out what everyone meant by gritty. (gritty has real meaning here)
Trigger slap was minor but close inspection of the bottom of the disconnector
revealed developing damage behind the spring hole.
After a lot of searching I decided to order the Adjustable Trigger group from
Red Star Arms. A few days after ordering the trigger it arrived Priority Mail.
The trigger group looks professionally manufactured.

Package includes:
Trigger, Disconnector, Disconnector Spring & Hammer
A retainer pin that holds the Trigger, Disconnector & Spring together.
(retainer pin also aids in installation)
A 1/16" allen wrench (used to adjust the 4 adjustable points)
An Instruction sheet with very good drawings,
and info on how the assembly works when in action.

Installation
During installation I had to enlarge the front side of the trigger window a small
amount with a file because the new trigger was in a bind when first installed.
After the trigger was working good I discovered that the disconnector
was binding on the front of the reciever preventing the hammer from locking
into the cocked position. I use a dremel tool with a small stone to round off a
few thousants of an inch from the bottom front side of the disconnector and
then everything worked perfect.

Adjustment:
(Red Star Arms pre-adjust each trigger group before shipping)
With the rifle unloaded, the reciever-cover & bolt return spring removed-
Minor adjustments can be made to remove slack in the first stage of trigger pull.
Overtravel can be eliminated. You can also adjust disconnector engagement and
the weight of the second stage of trigger pull.
If you prefer you can adjust the set screws to allow a single stage trigger pull.

Range Report
Right off the bat I knew the trigger set was worth the money.
Trigger travel was really short & smooth, Overtravel was eleminated,
Pull weight was very lite (I tightened it up a little to suit my preference)
The controll was more like my Ruger mini-14.
It improved my target grouping, And best of all it made a fun and reliable rifle
even more fun and reliable.

Customer Service
EXCELLENT
I e-mailed Red Star Arms several times with several questions and each time
recieved a friendly quick reply. They answered all my questions, and made
sure that I understood everything I needed to know.
I believe that Red Star Arms would go to any lenghts to achieve Customer Stafication.

Added Bonus
The learning experience was worth a lot in itself.
Installing the Trigger Group was like a hobby to me.
The experience was totally fun and educational.
Now me and my AK-47 are better for it :D

Thank You for reading my report

Red Star offers a high quality product...Installed in a Maadi and it has worked very well. I too enjoyed the minor smithing to fit the trigger group. Simple, but rugged firing control group.
