View Full Version : AR 15 Census: What Do You Own
Here is a chance to brag about your Poodle Shooter.
Personaly I own a Bushmaster A2 with a 20" Barrel
Circuits
03-06-2002, 08:24 PM
I own at least one of each on the poll, and others as well... so since it's got no provision for multiple selections, what's a shooter to do?
To clarify, I've got:
Colt AR-15A2 Sporter II
Olympic CAR-15
Eagle EA15 20"
Sendra XM15-E2S 16"
Cavalry Arms CAV-15 (x2), both 20"
Bushmaster XM15-E2S 16" (one standard, one flat-top)
PWA "Commando" 16"
DPMS 20"
Jeez....There is one in every crowd.:D

I have a Bushmaster Heavy barrel Shorty with the Ak muzzle brake. Has flattop receiver
Mine is a parts gun that Circuits help me build. The barrel is Colt A1 profile and 16", the upper reciver I got from Fed Arms, but made by DPMS I think, it is a slick flat top, no foward assist or ejection port cover. The bolt and carrier are from Fed arms, no idea who made them, the gas tube and pin are from DPMS. The lower is a Cav arms plastic lower and it is great. I have a new lower that I need an upper for, again one part at a time. :)

Can't vote as well, have had 3 Colt H-bars, own 3 builds, love the bushy lower. Oly was pretty good too but comes in second. Out of all six I'd say the bushy M4gery is my favorite. All around just a light reliable rifle.

Colt SP-1 AR-15, manufactured in 1964, first full year of production. They made about 23 in late '63, most all of which went to Colt executives.

I actually shoot it, but rarely. It's in too nice a shape to really use hard.
Templar, Does it have a cleaning compartment in the butt?
templar
03-13-2002, 09:04 PM
Skip, no, it does not have compartment in the stock for cleaning accessories. Colt didn't start doing that until the A1's came out around 1967 or so, and even then, not all rifles ahd them, especially civillian AR's.

that Bushmasters were a "poor ass cheap mans" AR copy. But from the looks of this forum. I am glad I bought a "p.a.c.m" Bushmaster. I like mine and apparently so do a few more of you do too. Cool

BIDDAWG,
How do you like your Rock River Ar?
I have heard a lot of good things about them , I heard the finish and fit is just as good as Colt and Bushmaster. Any truth to that?:)

Including factory guns, Colts, Bushies, Oly's, Sendra, PWA I can't count all the AR's I've had over the years ... at least 25 or so ... now I'm down to 2 "parts-guns" a Bushie/JP Enterprise:
http://www.gunsnet.net/album/data/500/18255bushmaster3-med.jpg
Armalite/DPMS Disapator ... but I'll probably get a DPMS lower for it someday
http://www.gunsnet.net/album/data/500/18255P5180002.JPG
... Then I'll have 3 parts guns :)
BOHICA's (my personal favorite) Made by a small company in Colorado ... all were Pre-ban, milled receivers, very nice and I kick myself for ever selling the 2 I had (one pistol and one 20"rifle) ... the best part was their name was an acronym for:
Bend Over Here It Comes Again

I got the Armalite carry handle because Stoner still uses the A1 type rear sight
The Armalite was $70 cheaper ...
... I guess Stoner is just real proud of theirs :sex:

I just traded some stuff today for a Rock River Arms lower with the non-collapsable buttstock, brand new. Now, I was thinking........buy a CAR A2/postban/car handguards from RRA's for $450, the SOCOM mag well block for $72.50 shipped, and 20 sten mags from CDNN for $4.99 a piece. I gotta have a sub-caliber rifle. My life will not be complete without it.:)

I am with circuits....dont really fall into any category there.....I have one complete and or stripped or semi stripped lower from about 8 different manufacturers....plus the cav arms lowers, the M16, the AR10........
how many do I have....that depends on how many I feel like bringing home from the shop......I guess I could say I have 2500....well, lowers anyways :D

After a while of not having an AR-15...I got back into it! All the Homeland Defense made me want a standard military rifle...not just the exotics in my safe.
I currently have 3 different AR's....all Colt.
1st one is a Colt R6830 in 7.62x39mm. Blue label. Bought a Colt M4A3 upper with a 1 in 7" twist, added an Aompoint in an A.R.M.S. 22M68 mount and #40 flip rear sight, Trijicon night sights, ambi safety, and GG&G side sling adaptors...voilla! I still have the 7.62x39mm upper in case I want to plink / hunt with that. When I bought the gun it already had a Colt 4 position stock installed, and the original A2 stock.
Second one was a Colt R6450 in 9mm NATO. Green label with raised fence. Gave it the Home Defense treatment of an ambi safety (I am a lefty), Trijicon night sights, GG&G side sling adaptors, SAMCO M33 handguards, and a SAMCO Surefire light holder. Mounted an extra Surefire light I had kicking around. Love this gun! Paid a bit over $1200 for it a month ago. Came with the Colt 2 position retractable stock, and three 20 round mags. The SAMCO stuff actually is pretty decent!
Last one I picked up was a Colt Sporter Competition HBAR R6700. Mint condition. Cme with a detachable A2 handle. Installed Trijicons, and an ambi safety.
I am quite happy with my AR's! Feels great to be back home!

Colt SP1, redone to XM177E2 specs and class 3'd in 1977
M4gery on DPMS lower, w/ Rock River upp and barrel, and Bushmaster Rear sight bar (a true mongrel:D )
M16A2 clone on a Rock River lower, Bushmaster barrel, and no name upper (possibly Oly)

M16 clone with an original Air force surp upper, GI surp barrel, and an early Colt hard chromed bolt/carrier assy; all on a Rock River lower.
Next project--A dup of the Canadian C7---then I'll have civie copies of all the ARs used by North American armed forces

Are you serious? In the next 10 years when they finally ban all assault weapons... please knock on my door first! J/K, guns are bad, I sold all my AR's a long time ago!
I just hang out here now and on AK47.net because I miss them... but they are bad!
Yeah, right... post some pics too... please?
