I'm still waiting for my 762 dies and plan to start with 1680, winchester brass and large rifle primers, hornady .310 fmj.
What I've learned from reading is the accuracy of my ammo will depend mostly on the deviation of it's velocity...
But how do the mechanichal aspects of the rifle affect its accuracy and what can I do to improve it?
The AK is just a machine and there's no reason that it cant shoot streight.

Not much. The gas system and lower handguard being attached to the short barrel pretty well limit any accuracy improvements to the rifle. The only thing you can do is get the ammo as consistant as possible.

I chopped up the original saiga hand grip and screwed it to the reciever-- workes fine and doesnt touch the barrel-- a carbon fiber replacement is my next prodject.
What about somthing like blueprinting the bolt!?! Does that have anything to do with it?
I mean: why does the AK have a bad Rep?

The loose tolerences of the AK make it 100% reliable. This was the main concern as the AK is a military rifle and not a sporting rifle. It is a trade off as you make the parts fit tighter reliability goes down in the battle field dirt,dust,mud,etc....
Blue printing the bolt would help some but a new match chambered barrel would most likly give the most improvement.

Allright, thanks man. I'll just do the garage tinkering stuff cause I love fixen stuff. Other than that I'll go with what I have.
